ARCHITECTURE, INTERIOR & LANDSCAPE: T3 ARCHITECTS
T3 ARCHITECTS just designed a Luxury Tropical Villa in Phnom Penh for a 6 members Family. The main intention was to follow the “code” of the high-end residential project but bringing bioclimatic principles to limit energy consumption and offer a very comfortable house. T3 played with the “L” shape of the land and created some Patio, courtyard, playground, and garden to bring the Tropical atmosphere around the villa and natural light in all rooms. The Villa has been designed to be comfortable even without Air Conditioning, by reducing direct sunlight on windows (sun protection) and allowing natural ventilation when the air is “cool” enough. Interior design is voluntarily minimalist, with high-end finishing materials but simple. The client didn’t want a Villa for “show-off”, just a House “to live” with family members and few close friends… All furniture is also quite minimalist, which is something quite new in Cambodia where many local people still want “big solid wood” furniture. The color palette is turning around Black, beige, light grey, with few touches of light blue mainly for kids. The landscape has been designed for the children first, with a large playground and a nice pool facing the living room (for safety reason). Plants have been selected to make the maintenance of the garden easy but also because they are typical form Phnom Penh region.
